Formed in early 2003, The Answer Lies took it upon themselves to combat a stagnant local Las Cruces, NM music scene. A scene which, for too long, had been doomed to mediocrity and plagued by cheesy ska bands and second-rate cover bands with a total disregard for anyone under the legal drinking age.

Okay, okay, so maybe they didn’t have such lofty ambitions when they formed, but by being one of the only bands in Las Cruces willing to seek out non-traditional show spaces, play for all-ages crowds, and bring touring bands to the area, they succeeded, intentionally or not, in helping create a local scene that has quickly become a favorite stopping point for DIY bands across the country.

This fast and furious "old school" punk band isn't just some local fave. They tour the country extensively and have released several limited-run CDs and a split 7" with local friends, 10 Seconds to Liftoff, that have gotten rave reviews in notable punk zines like MRR and Razorcake. And being the suave guys they are, they've managed to make plenty of fans and friends along the way.
